Stretching from Alberta and British Columbia in Canada to New Mexico in the United States, the Rocky Mountains, also called the Rockies, is the longest mountain range in North America. The mountain range is made up out of over 100 separate mountain ranges, not just one continuous range. It is divided into 5 regions: the Southern Rockies, Middle Rockies, Northern Rockies, the Rocky Mountain System of Canada, and the Brooks range in Alaska. The tallest mountain in the range is Mount Elbert at 14440 feet.
